Sungai Lembing is located in the state of Pahang which is around 45 minutes by road from Kuantan town. In Sungai Lembing town, we can find many budget hotels.
Beside that, Sungai Lembing is also known as the 2nd biggest mining project in the world during the early 60's. At the moment, what have been leave is the three tunnels thai is not maintain at all and all the buildings at the side have been demolished.
There are four rows of shop houses which was once in business, catering all the miners and residence in the town. But sad to say today, most of the shop houses were close because lack of people. Only less than a handfool are open for business. Some have been converted into a budget hotels.
Today the main attraction are Sungai Lembing Museum, tin mining tunnels, crystal stones gallery and watching sun rise at the peak of the mountain.
For those who are interested to watch sun rise, they need to climb the mountain which is around thousands feet high. Concrete steps and iron railings are provided and takes around 45 minutes to reach.
When we reach to the top of the mountain, most of us will be sweating profusely and fighthing for air (exhausted). But, we forget the thoughness of climbing after we saw the beautiful scenery. On one side, we noticed the sunrise and the other side we feel that we are standing on the clouds like fairy.
The out skirt of the town where the villagers use hangging bridges to cross the huge river to reach another village. The experince of crossing the bridge is very frightening because it tends to sway as we are walking on the bridge. In the village, we visited the famous noodle maker in Sungai Lembing. Stuff bean curt is also one of the very popular food found.
As we leaving the town, along the way, we visited the Charas cave which 1000 meters high and 400 million years old. In the cave, we saw sleeping buddha, indian temple and chinese god statue. Then adjoin to Hutan Lipur Sungai Pandan waterfall. At the waterfall, they are many tourists enjoying the outing in the cold and icy scream.
This journey is very interesting. I also wish to share some photograph taken during my holiday.
